Time to stop the lipstick sharing?
It could be spreading the human papilloma virus (HPV). Eek!
Add this to your list of things you 'probably should stop doing': sharing lippy.
Why? Because a new study has shown that the human papilloma virus (HPV) is associated with the sharing of lipsticks, glosses and balms – as well as toothbrushes and cigarettes. Guilty!
HPV is a common and contagious virus causing things from minor problems such as warts and verrucae to more major conditions including abnormal tissue growths which can lead to cervical cancer.
There are more than 100 types of HPV and transmission occurs most commonly during sex, with over three quarters of sexually active women acquiring it at some time in their lives.
So as well as practising safe sex (obvs), consider practising safe sharing too and keep your lipsticks to yourself.
