Developed by Square Enix, Final Fantasy is a series of science fantasy role-playing games. It was first released more than three decades back in 1987 and has been a huge hit ever since then. Today, it is world-renowned and has a massive influence on the gaming industry. Each of the games has unique settings, main characters, and plots, but there are certain recurring elements like character names and game mechanics. Every one of them is about a group of heroes fighting for the greater good while the characters themselves face their internal struggles at the same time. Final Fantasy is one of the best selling game franchises of all time, with over 154 million software units sold worldwide. 

Square Enix has released the trailer for the much-anticipated Final Fantasy XVI earlier this year. The game is set to be released for PlayStation 5, but the fans might not have to wait long since it is reported to release sooner than most people expect. One thing is sure; the game will be released only for PlayStation 5, which might be a little disappointing for some of the fans.

It was made official through the PlayStation Magazine that Final Fantasy XVI is coming next year but only for PS5. The upcoming game will try to make use of the tech inside Sony’s new console. But numerous questions are now being asked about the next-gen debut for Final Fantasy. What is that gigantic fire demon? Who are the new heroes in the upcoming game? What will be the fighting style? Some of these questions are addressed in the latest edition of Official PlayStation Magazine, but there is much that fans will have to wait to get to know.

However, Square Enix or Sony is yet to make any official statement regarding the game’s release. So, we will have to wait for confirmation before jumping to any conclusions. But there is a lot that gives the latest reports some credibility. So, there is a good chance that the rumors might turn out to be true. The primary development of the game and the scenario production was already finished a long time back. Some reports have already pointed out that the game has been in production for more than four years. Moreover, looking at the trailer’s high quality, it does seem that the upcoming game has been in production for a long time.  There is no way to confirm when Final Fantasy XVI might be released until the official announcement by Square Enix. But for now, we can expect the game to release soon since there is good reason to believe that the game has been in production for a long time.
