Industry/Innovation/Related News

May 13, 2020 ---- A team of researchers from Università Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore (Italy), National Research University of Electronic Technology (Russia), and Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Russia), announced the development of a method for fast, on-site and accurate breath analysis. The method is based on an electronic nose platform that uses a set of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNTs) sensors deposited on flexible substrates and modified by different semiconducting organic molecules and does not need special preparation of breath samples.

The researchers suggested that increasingly recognized properties of the SWCNT sensors for additional fictionalization increase the sensors' specificity to different gases, making sub-ppm analysis possible. According to the research team, their study would pave the way for human breathing patterns of lung disease needed for Covid-19 Analysis.
