Add Windows permissions to the QuickBooks installation folder

        Start by closing your QuickBooks. 

        To C:\Program files\

        For 64-bit users, C is recommended:Program Files (x86)

        Now you need to go to the Security tab and select advanced options

        Remember to make sure the folder owner is the user group. If not, you will need to take ownership of the Intuit folder by completing a few steps:

        Select Edit next to the owner name in the advanced security settings window.

        Enter a user in the field, enter a topic name to select Search, and select a verification name.

        Then click on the OK tab.

        You must then mark the change of owner on the sub-containers and objects.

        Click the Apply and OK tab accordingly.

        Select the user from the permissions window and also click on the full control option

        Click the Apply tab and the OK tab.

        Try downloading updates. If the error persists, follow the steps for the folder below:
