Process 1: Use selective startup mode to install QuickBooks 

  • Create a backup of the company file and keep a copy of QuickBooks desktop product and license info 
  • Start system in selective startup mode 
    • Press windows + r keys
    • Type in msconfig and select ok
    • Select the selective startup and load system services 
    • Select hide all Microsoft services 
    • Select disable all 
    • Uncheck hide all Microsoft services checkbox 
    • Ensure that the windows installer checkbox is selected 
    • Hit ok tab

  • Uninstall or install QuickBooks 
  • Switch back to normal startup mode 
    • Press windows + R keys
    • Type in msconfig

  • Close QuickBooks first 
  • Download the QuickBooks tool hub file from the official intuit website. You will have to save the file, where it can be accessed with much ease. 
  • Open the file
